So what’s going on in the world of A-League?
Another week another drama, this week the news was all bad for Brisbane coach Mike Mulvey. After a less than satisfactory start to the year Mulvey was given his marching orders by Brisbane officials this week. With the departure of stars Ivan Franjic and arguably the best striker in the A-League Besart Berisha; Mulvey has lead a team out of form with only one win from 7 rounds. With the squad slightly unbalanced this year and low on confidence it’s hard to see how new coach Frans Thijssen will turn this around.

Wondering what’s on? We’ve got you covered. Here’s this rounds matches and where you might want to put your money.

This Round’s Matches

Round 08

Fri 28 Nov Melbourne Victory v Adelaide United AAMI Park 7:30PM

The arch rivals meet again, the first time these two met in Adelaide it was a tight and tense affair. It was almost a non-event with both teams too tentative to attack and annulling each other up until the last 15 minutes which were packed with drama. Adelaide sees the return of star duo Djite and Marcello Carrusca meaning both teams are more or less at full strength. Expect a tense affair. Panda predicts 1-1

Sat 29 Nov Brisbane Roar v Perth Glory Suncorp Stadium 5:00PM

Brisbane have a new coach this week so expect a performance full of heart. The players will be out to impress their new coach but Perth are too strong this year, Panda doesn’t see them getting beaten by a team that is behind the eight ball. Brisbane defender Shane Steffanuto is out with a groin injury meaning the Roar defense will be missing a regular starter. Panda predicts Perth 2-1

Sat 29 Nov Western Sydney v Sydney FC Pirtek Stadium 7:30PM

The Sydney derby, it will be loud and furious. Corey Gamiero is out for the sky blues indefinitely with a knee injury however they don’t lack striking power. Western Sydney can’t afford to lose and Sydney FC are too good to lose. Panda predicts a draw 2-2

Sun 30 Nov Wellington Phoenix v Melbourne City Westpac Stadium 3:00PM

City are a good football playing side however they haven’t put the pieces of the puzzle together just yet. With Michael McGlinchey returning from paternity leave for Phoneix and City still missing Koren, Murdocca and Germano Panda predicts 2-1 to Wellington.

Sun 30 Nov Newcastle Jets v Central Coast Hunter Stadium 5:00PM

Both teams aren’t travelling great this year and this presents a good chance for the Jets to get a win and put some points on the board. Anything can happen in the F3 derby however Panda predicts the Jets 3-1.
