So what’s going on in the world of A-League?
The news this week is that we have arrived at round 4 and reigning champs Brisbane still have no wins, Melbourne City say goodbye to David Villa with his last appearance and West Sydney Wanderers will be forgiven for not playing again this week after a sensational 1-0 first leg win against Al-Hilal. This week the Wanderers head to Saudi Arabia for the second leg to attempt the unthinkable. Become champions of Asia.
Wondering what’s on? We’ve got you covered. Here’s this rounds matches and where you might want to put your money.
This Round’s Matches
Round 4
Fri 31 Oct Melbourne City v Adelaide United
Melbourne City are desperate for a win and David Villa has come out and said that he wants to leave Melbourne as a winner. Adelaide will have to something to say about that. Another excellent win against Perth last week. Perth were previously undefeated and United gave them a footballing lesson. United are playing sublime football at the moment the only thing missing is to be a little more clinical in front of goal. Pepper predicts 2-1 to United.
Sat 1 Nov Perth Glory v Newcastle Jets
Perth were showed up last week by United but have had a confident start to the season. Newcastle on the other hand have been poor thus far, the Jets have no wins on the board and only 1 point from 3 games. Back in Perth this week and after a loss, the Glory will want redemption. Against an opposition that isn’t firing Pepper expects 2-0 to Glory.
Sat 1 Nov Western Sydney v Brisbane Roar
Postponed due to Asian Champions League Final
Sun 2 Nov Sydney FC v Central Coast
Graham Arnold’s Sydney FC are firing and looking good. Marc Janko scored a stunner against Brisbane last week and his team mates looked in form and hungry. Good games from Brosque and Ibini should see them get the business done against the CCM. Pepper predicts 2-1 to Sydney.
Mon 3 Nov Melbourne Victory v Wellington Phoenix
This will be a great game for the spectator. Melbourne Victory are confident, clinical and flying at the moment. Wellington aren’t doing too bad either. Expect a lot of goals in this one. Noticeably Melbourne Victory faltered mid week losing to Perth Glory on Wednesday and being knocked out of the FFA Cup. To add insult to injury two players limped off the park injured, one being super striker Besart Berisha and the other Matthieu Delpierre. Take into considerations these factors and Pepper predicts this one to be the upset of the round Wellington to win 4-2.
