Panda Sweeps Play of the Week! – Week 6

Saturday, February 15th, 2014

Off to Sochi again for this weeks ‘Play of the Week.’ This time we have a feel good moment where some old fashioned good sportsmanship was displayed during the week.

Russian skier Anton Gafarov who fell early in the Cross-Country Men’s Sprint Semi Final broke his ski during the fall and was left to attempt to finish the race in front of home fans with virtually only one ski. Gafarov bravely soldiered on slipping to a distant last place before once again falling a short distance from the finish line. Here a Canadian ski coach came to the rescue handing and attaching Gafarov a new ski allowing him to complete the race in front of his home country crowd, showing great determination to not give up along with some great sportsmanship from the Canadian coach.
