The historic Old Course at St. Andrew’s, Scotland will host this year’s edition of the Women’s British Open. Conceived in 1976, the tournament initially struggled to gain the prestige of its male counterpart but has grown in stature to now be considered a major tournament. Australia’s Karrie Webb and American Sherri Steinhauer hold the record with three wins apiece, while the field will be looking to take the title from defending champion, South Korea’s Shin Jiyai.
