Pepper’s Gold Cup Day Exclusive
Friday, March 14th, 2014
It’s go time.
The Betfred Cheltenham Gold Cup is the long established climax to the jump racing season. The atmosphere in the air is tangible today, the last day of the Cheltenham Festival – and this year is set to be exciting as ever.
Last year’s winning horse, Bobs Worth, is looking like a hot favourite to win again this year. If this nine-year-old talent brings in a win this afternoon, he’ll be the eighth horse in history to win the illustrious Gold Cup more than once. Other hot contenders for this year’s title include King George winner Silviniaco Conti and third favourite Last Instalment. All contenders are primed and ready to make their mark on one of the year’s biggest races.
Pepper’s inside sources tell him Triolo D’Alene could be a dark horse in this afternoon’s Gold Cup. This Hennessy Gold Cup winner, along with trainer AP McCoy, is backed at 9-1 right now but there are murmurs that he could take the title – so we’ll have to see how it all plays out later on. If you want access to all of today’s tips, you can find them right here.
There are only a few hours left until the big race – but there’s still time to set up a cheeky sweepstake or find where to place your bets.
See you at the other side!
