Panda Sweeps: Massive Weekend Football Update
Saturday, February 8th, 2014
Hey football fans! It’s almost the weekend and we just can’t wait to get our teeth into Saturday’s football – so we’re doing it right now. Welcome to your latest installment of Pepper Panda’s football tips!
So what’s going on in the world of football?
With so many of us still reeling from the results of the transfer window, it’s no surprise Shola Ameobi has taken it upon himself to assure Newcastle fans that the team still remains focused throughout the political unrest at St James. Without a permanent signing from the transfer window, Newcastle look frail for the final set of games in the season.
What’s also breaking our hearts is Brendan Rogers’ admission that he doesn’t see Liverpool as contenders for the title. In his own words, the team is “still evolving”, so hopefully we’ll see bigger and better things for the Reds in the next few years – but this year the title doesn’t appear to be on the cards.
We love it when football fans unite – even when it’s against a common enemy – and this week the word on the lips of Arsenal, Tottenham and Liverpool fans alike is ‘Emirates’. The controversy arose when it was revealed that Arsenal’s Safety Advisory Group reduced ticket allocation for away fans on recent FA Cup matches on the grounds of “fears over safety issues from supporters”. In the words of the supporter’s organisations, “it would appear the FA and the participating clubs do not hold the competition in the same regard as the fans”.
This week we also found out that 25-year-old Nicolas Otamendi’s been signed with Valencia and is heading there in July on a five year deal rumoured to have cost the club a sizeable €12 million. Otamendi’s been in a lot of people’s sights lately, with interest from Manchester United, Manchester City and Monaco to name a few. Valencian manager Francisco Rufete has described this transfer as “great news for all Valencianistas”.
And the good news just keeps on coming – during Wednesday’s official announcement, former England captain and all-round national hero David Beckham told us that a world-class stadium would be built, and hoped to recruit “some of the best players in football”. This Miami based major league club will become the 22nd team in the MLS.
By staying up-to-date with our top tips, not only will you get a helping of the juiciest football news, but you’ll also find the best odds on the biggest matches and hopefully make yourself a tidy profit.
Wondering what’s on? We’ve got you covered. So let’s get down to it – here’s today in football and the places you might want to put your money.

15:00 Aston Villa v West Ham
Aston Villa tipped to win 14 times.
Pepper Panda knows that these two teams are evenly matched with Aston Villa wining 30%, drawing 15% and losing 55% of their last 20 home games, while West Brom won 15%, drawn 30% and lost 55% of their last 20 away games.
Pepper predicts 1-1 draw.
15:00 Chelsea v Newcastle
Chelsea tipped to win 41 times.
Pepper Panda would be a fool not to back Chelsea especially considering their 85% win track record having only drawn 15% and yet to lose a game.
Pepper Panda Predicts 2-1 to Chelsea.
15:00 Crystal Palace v West Brom
Crystal Palace tipped to win 12 times.
Pepper Panda’s saying West Brom is on a real downward spiral only wining 15% of their last 20 games and losing 50%. Crystal Palace may just have an easy win on their hands it West Brom don’t start fighting back.
Panda Predicts 1-0 to Crystal Palace.
15:00 Norwich v Man City
Man City tipped to win 29 times.
Pepper Panda’s heard Man City is currently on a 4 match wining streak in their away games wining 45% of their games overall. compared to Norwich’s 35% wining rate.
Pepper Pander predicts 3-1 to Man City.
15:00 Southampton v Stoke
Southampton tipped to win 14 times.
Pepper panda Knows the facts and it doesn’t take a genius to know that losing 70% of matches played could spell disaster for Stoke. Especially since Southampton only lost 25% of the last 20 matches.
Panda predicts 2 – 0 to Southampton
15:00 Sunderland v Hull
Sunderland tipped to win 26 times.
Pepper Panda sees that Hull have won 20%, drawn 10% and lost 70% of their last 20 away games while Sunderland have won 20%, drawn 35% and lost 45% of their last 20 home games.
Panda Predicts 1-0 to Sunderland.
17:30 Swansea v Cardiff
Panda heard that Cardiff have failed to score in 45% of their last 20 away games while Swansea have failed to score in only 25% of their last 20 home games winning 30% of matches.
Panda predicts 1-0 to Swansea.
Sunday 9th February
13:30 Tottenham v Everton
Tottenham tipped to win 6 times.
Pepper Panda knows Spurs and Everton are 6th and 5th respectively, and both teams have won some and lost others – these two are evenly matched.
Panda Predicts a 1-1 draw.
16:00 Manchester United v Fulham
Man United tipped to win 35 times.
Pepper Panda can’t see Fulham putting up much of a fight from down in 20th, it’s going to be a Man U win, but by how much? United have been winning by a couple of goals whenn they’re up against a weaker team, but playing badly against the top teams.
Panda Predicts 2-0 to Man U.
