So what’s going on in the world of A-League?

This week there is one monumental story to be shared and that story involves the Western Sydney Wanderers becoming the Champions of Asia after they beat Al-Hilal over two legs. This is definitely a brilliant moment in Australian football and without doubt the biggest moment in A-League history. Congratulations to Tony Popovic and his squad.

Other news involves the signing of Socceroos striker Joshua Kennedy to Melbourne City. Kennedy is obviously no Villa however he still brings a lot of quality and presence in attack.

Wondering what’s on? We’ve got you covered. Here’s this rounds matches and where you might want to put your money.

This Round’s Matches

Round 5

Fri 7 Nov Adelaide United v Sydney FC

This is a top of the table clash, it would take a magic eight ball to predict this one. Both teams are in excellent form and firing on all cylinders. Pepper predicts Adelaide to win 1-0 with the slight home advantage.

Sat 8 Nov Wellington Phoenix v Western Sydney

Asian Champions winners the Wanderers have had a terrible start to the A-League season with the distraction of the Asian Champions League. They can be forgiven for doing so however now that the Asian Champions League is out of the way you can expect the Wanderers to start firing. Pepper predicts Wanderers to have a small hangover this week but as of next week expect to see some points on the board for WSW. Pepper predicts 1-1

Sat 8 Nov Newcastle Jets v Newcastle Jets

Melbourne are on fire and Newcastle Jets couldn’t start a fire if you gave them a can of petrol and a box of matches. Newcastle will get some points one day but Pepper doesn’t see it being this week. Melbourne Victory win 3-1

Sat 8 Nov Brisbane Roar v Melbourne City

Both teams are playing attractive football but definitely not effective. Melbourne City are a work in progress and the Roar seem to be a bit toothless up front. With the absence of Villa expect this one to be tight. Pepper predicts 1-1

Sun 9 Nov Central Coast v Perth Glory

It looks like Perth Glory have got their act together and with striker Andy Keogh firing they should find the back of the net. Central Coast won’t be easy beats but they seem to be missing a couple pieces of the puzzle. Perth to win 1-0 only just.
